Members must instill the highest respect for the heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) contracting profession within their communities.
Members must maintain strict compliance with all laws, regulations, and ordinances pertaining to the HVACR industry and business operations enacted in accordance with federal, state, county, and municipal governments.
Members must design, install, service, and repair HVACR systems in accordance with accepted industry standards.
Members must develop and maintain an understanding of proper equipment selection to assure customers of safe, dependable, and comfortable performance.
Members must ensure that quality, honesty, integrity, and good faith are hallmarks of contractors’ business practices, including individual contractor sales, advertising, installations, and service of HVACR systems.
Members must maintain a clean, safe, respectable, and well-identified place of business commensurate with the high standards of the HVACR profession.
Members should increase the safety and efficiency of the HVACR contracting industry by requiring all staff members to participate in the education and training programs that are sponsored by Southeast Michigan Air Conditioning Contractors Association and affiliated training organizations.
Members should develop the highest quality standards of customer service and nurture long-term relationships with customers.
Members should encourage business development in which skilled and professional HVACR contractors are empowered to provide high-level services to consumers and end-users.
Members should refrain from engaging in any activity defined as cross-subsidization.
Members agree to not discuss with other Southeast Michigan Air Conditioning Contractors Association members or HVACR contractors within the community any prices, fees, rates, or features that can impact prices such as discounts, costs, terms and conditions of sales, warranties, or profit margins.
